태국은 6·25전쟁 당시 대한민국의 자유와 평화를 위해 함께 싸운 소중한 우방국이며, 매년 약 220만 명의 양국 국민이 서로 왕래하는 가까운 이웃입니다. 중요한 통상 파트너이자 방위산업 협력국이기도 합니다.

아누틴 찬위라꾼 태국 총리와 만나 가장 먼저 故시리킷 왕태후의 별세에 깊은 애도를 표했습니다. 이어 한-태국 전략적 동반자 관계 발전 방안에 대해 심도 있게 논의했습니다.

우리는 한-태국 간 교역과 투자를 확대하고 AI, 디지털 혁신, 에너지 전환 등 미래지향적 협력을 적극 추진해 나가기로 뜻을 모았습니다. 또한 양국 국민 간 교류 활성화를 통해 서로의 삶에 실질적 도움이 되는 우호 관계를 굳건히 다져 나갈 계획입니다.

앞으로도 우리 양국은 깊은 역사와 우정을 바탕으로 상호 협력을 더욱 강화하며 함께 발전해 나갈 것입니다.

Thailand is a valued partner that fought alongside Korea in defence of freedom and peace during the Korean War, and a close neighbor with around 2.2 million people-to-people exchanges every year. Thailand is also an important partner in trade and defence industry cooperation.

At the meeting with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, I first expressed my deep condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. Then we held in-depth discussions on ways to further develop the ROK-Thailand Strategic Partnership.

We agreed to expand trade and investment, and to actively pursue future-oriented cooperation in AI, digital innovation, and energy transition. We also reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening our friendship and bringing tangible benefits to our peoples, by enhancing people-to-people exchanges.

I look forward to our two countries’ continued progress and stronger mutual cooperation, based on our long history and enduring friendship.
