앞으로 다가올 2029년 한-아세안 대화관계 40주년을 기념해 특별정상회의 개최를 제안하며, 인적 교류 연간 1,500만 명, 교역액 연간 3천억 달러 달성 목표를 발표했습니다.

한-아세안 정상회의에서 함께 나눈 심도 깊은 논의를 통해 한국과 아세안 간 호혜적 협력 관계가 더욱 굳건해지길 기대합니다.

이어진 아세안+3 정상회의에서는 리창 중국 총리, 모테기 일본 외무대신과 함께 한중일 3국 협력과 아세안+3 협력 강화 방안을 논의했습니다.

1997년 아시아 금융위기 극복을 위해 출범한 아세안+3는 이후 식량·에너지 위기, 코로나19, 초국가 범죄 대응 등 다양한 글로벌 도전에 공동으로 맞서온 동아시아 핵심 협력체입니다.

현재 세계가 직면한 복합적 위기 극복을 위해 아세안+3 출범 정신인 협력과 연대를 다시금 강조하며, 포용성과 지속가능성을 중심으로 하는 협력 방향을 제시했습니다.

이번 회의에서 나눈 뜻깊은 대화가 경주에서 개최되는 APEC 정상회의에서도 이어지길 희망합니다.

아낌없는 지원과 따뜻한 환대를 베풀어 주신 의장국 말레이시아 정부를 비롯해 11개 아세안 회원국 모두에게 깊은 감사를 전합니다. 우리가 함께 만들어갈 한-아세안의 미래가 더욱 빛나리라 믿습니다.

This is the Republic of Korea's core vision to further advance Korea-ASEAN relations.

I proposed holding a commemorative summit on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Korea-ASEAN dialogue relations in 2029. I also announced the goals to achieve 15 million in annual people-to-people exchanges and $300 billion in annual two-way trade volume between Korea and ASEAN.

I hope the mutually beneficial ties of cooperation between Korea and ASEAN will be further solidified through the in-depth discussions that we shared at the Korea-ASEAN Summit.

At the following ASEAN+3 Summit, I discussed ways to strengthen trilateral cooperation among Korea, China, and Japan as well as ASEAN+3 cooperation together with Chinese Premier Li Qiang of China and Japan's Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi.

ASEAN+3, which was launched in 1997 to overcome the Asian Financial Crisis, has since been a core cooperation platform in East Asia, jointly confronting various global challenges such as the food and energy crises, COVID-19, and transnational crime.

To overcome the complex crises currently facing the world, I emphasized the spirit of cooperation and solidarity that marked the launch of ASEAN+3, and proposed a way forward for our cooperation centered on inclusivity and sustainability.

I hope the meaningful dialogue shared at the ASEAN+3 Summit will continue at the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting to be held in Gyeongju this week.

I extend my deepest gratitude to the government of Malaysia, the chair of ASEAN, and to all 11 ASEAN member states for their generous support and warm hospitality. I am confident that the future of Korea and ASEAN relations, which we will create together, will shine even brighter.
